About Chesapeake Cast
Chesapeake Cast is an independent editorial publication about fishing literacy, waterside observation and trip planning on the Chesapeake Bay.
Chesapeake Cast is an independent English-language editorial publication. It continues the Chesapeake fishing subject matter of a former charter site, but it is a new publication with no charter operations, captain identity or old contact details.
We serve anglers, shoreline observers and trip planners who want to understand the Bay rather than memorize rumors. Our three rubriques are Water Reading, Humane Handling and Trip Planning. Water Reading explains salinity, dissolved oxygen, temperature and clarity. Humane Handling covers catch-and-release choices that improve fish survival. Trip Planning organizes tides, charts, weather, official rules and gear into a repeatable routine.
Our editorial method starts with public agency and monitoring material. We translate it into plain questions a reader can ask before leaving the dock or after a release. We do not invent fishing rules, limits or current prices. For regulations, we point readers to official agency pages and tell them to verify current rules themselves.
We avoid fake experience and superlatives. We do not claim to have measured keyword volumes or conducted search engine research. Illustrative images and diagrams on this site are synthetic or editorial in nature unless a page states otherwise; they are meant to explain a concept, not to document a specific catch, location or trip. Where we describe angling tactics, we stay within planning, observation, materials and visual literacy. We do not provide medical advice or prescriptive gas, electrical or structural installation procedures.
If you have a correction, see our editorial policy for how to identify the article and supporting evidence. We prefer precise, checkable claims over dramatic ones.
